We've updated the cemetery fence that we built last year. Full pics when the fence is set up in early October.
Hi! I love your blog and I really love the addition of the roses. If I might suggest something - I would have used white roses simply because they would have shown up better in the night. You might also consider adding a "moon garden" to your display. Essentially, it was a Victorian garden with nothing but white flowers in it the could be viewed easily in the moonlight. Just an idea for you.
I'd have to say I dig the red since they'll show up rather dark at night....almost like blood and part of the vines and "iron" of the gates.Black roses almost. A moon garden sounds neat though.Never heard of one.
Moon gardens were originally created so that women could enjoy the white flowers in the evening moonlight without impairing their makeup. Originally, a lot of women's cosmetics were wax based and melted in the sun. So moon gardens were invented. Some of them were even planted in the shape of crescent moons, which I find are totally neat. My mother actually planted one at my parents house, but it is not moon shaped. It has white roses, moonflowers, and lots of various kinds of white blooms in it. HGTV.com and BHG have designs for them, as well as suggested plantings. Such a lovely idea! Ivy just makes a graveyard, don't you think? I used it in my haunt for the first time this year. I hope to accumulate much, much more for 2010 =)Love the addition of the roses.
